Learn different techniques for painting loose fabulous florals, using a palette knife, paintbrush or even your fingers! Using a knife enables you to create interesting textures and encourages a lively, impressionist treatment that adds greatly to the impact of the finished painting. Explore using different types of brushes for a variety of results. Exercises will help you understand the basic structure for creating florals. Learn to skip the details and focus on shapes, color, value and creating a successful design. This is a great way to energize your painting and develop your own unique style.
With reference photos and floral arrangements scattered throughout the class, there will be all sorts of material to inspire you, plus plenty of one-on-one assistance and encouragement from Kim.
Workshop includes paints and mediums for class use, canvas panel, instruction booklet, color wheel, mixed media paper to experiment on and plenty of one on one attention.
Supplies to bring:
1 stretched canvas or canvas panel (either 11x14, 12x12 or 16x20)
Brushes: Variety of small (1/4”) - medium (1”) sized brushes
Solvent: Odorless solvent in a container with a lid
Palette: either a large SOHO palette paper pad or a 12x14 covered Masterson palette
Roll of paper towels
