Experience facial drawing with black and sepia charcoal using the grid method on a wood board much like the great masters of the Renaissance. This will be a fun experience as you excel in shading, proportions, value and the other basics of drawing. Beeswax resist will be applied to seal the drawing as you continue to apply an acrylic wash background. You will also complete a painting on canvas of a close-up segment of fabric from the Sistine Chapel by applying one color of your choice while exploring value using black and white and dioxazine purple. This lesson is a favorite of mine to teach and a favorite of my students.
