This evening workshop is an exploration of simple organic compositions that reflect Joe’s experience at the Pueblos of Northern New Mexico. We’ll experiment with a variety of materials such as Acrylics, Graphite, and Oil based pencils. You’ll learn about creating a wash, glazing and using controlled splatters to compose an exciting, energetic composition. Joe will introduce you to some of his ideas on composition, color theories, and techniques that he uses when working on his Wind Spirits on paper. This evening workshop will surely broaden your spirit of exploration! Let your creative process go wild.
Supplies to bring:
Acrylic Paint: Matisse Structure - Black, Southern Ocean Blue and Australian Sienna
Brushes - A small set of short handle round and flat brushes (Creative Inspirations Mixed Short handle Brush Set) and a Polar Flo #4 Liner
Paper - A good quality Watercolor Paper, Arches or Fabriano Artistico 140lb Cold Press- 2 full sheets (22” x 30”) are required. Also, an 11x14 pad of Strathmore 300 Series or Fabriano Studio Watercolor Paper.
Pencils - Jerry’s Jumbo Jet Black Pencil, Soho 12 Colored Pencil Set, Metallic Colored Acrylic Inks
Paper Towels, Aprons, and water buckets will be provided.
